Queerty Magazine Highlights B.O.Y. (Bruises Of Yesterday), Now Streaming from Breaking Glass Pictures

Queerty Magazine recently featured B.O.Y. (Bruises Of Yesterday), praising the film as a “raw Dutch coming-of-age drama” that dives headfirst into teenage lust, loneliness, and longing.

Directed by filmmaker Søren Green, B.O.Y. follows introverted teenager Tobias as he navigates a lonely summer marked by fractured family relationships, first connections, and a growing sense of isolation. As tragedy strikes, Tobias begins a painful journey through grief, self-harm, and emotional turmoil — searching for love, understanding, and a way forward.

Queerty notes that the film offers a refreshingly honest depiction of queer adolescence, where the central conflict is not sexuality itself, but the devastating effects of loneliness and abandonment. In Green’s own words, B.O.Y. aims to portray “a boy who turns to self-harm as a way of regulating his emotions, when he is faced with abandonment, grief, and loneliness.”

Now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Google Play.
