Breaking Glass Pictures

A film distribution company.

About Us

Founded in 2009 by Richard Wolff and Richard Ross--two entertainment industry veterans--Breaking Glass Pictures is a cutting edge, globally-connected film distribution media company based in Philadelphia, PA. It focuses on finding unique and visionary independent films from around the world, inclusive of all genres.

With its three film labels: Breaking Glass Pictures, QC Cinema, and Vicious Circle Films, the company takes a targeted approach to the independent, LGBT, documentary, and horror genres. In addition to theatrical, digital, VOD and DVD releases in North America, Breaking Glass functions as an International sales agent at film markets, with strong ties in Australia, the UK, France, Germany, and Asia.

Highlights from the Breaking Glass film roster include Xavier Dolan's Cannes-winning feature Laurence Anyways, Israel Cardenas and Laura Amelia Guzman’s critically acclaimed Dominican sensation Sand Dollars (Dólares de arena) starring Geraldine Chaplin, Spanish provocateur Alex de la Iglesia’s raucous comedy My Big Night (Mi Gran Noche), Tim McCann’s searing drama All Mistakes Buried starring Sam Trammel, Laurie Weltz’s family drama About Scout (in conjunction with Reel Red Films) and Jean-Jacques Zilbermann’s heartbreaking Holocaust drama To Life (À La Vie.) Recent Breaking Glass titles include acclaimed Australian thriller Grant Scicluna's Downriver, San Sebastian existential comedy

The Apostate (Federico Veiroj), British "Jack the Ripper" thriller Razors (Ian Powell, Karl Ward), and two acclaimed dramas from this year's Outfest, Papu Curotto's Esteros and Tim Kirkman's Lazy Eye. Early 2017 will bring SXSW suspense drama Claire in Motion (Annie J. Howell, Lisa Robinson).

2016 saw Breaking Glass Pictures enter the production arena with two films. Our first title is the exciting MMA action film Fight Valley starring Miesha Tate, Holly Holm, Cris “Cyborg” and Susie Celek. With the strong response to the film, 2017 will bring Fight Valley 2 to the marketplace. The second title is The Falls: Covenant of Grace, which is actually the final installment in a trilogy that we have been involved with since its inception. The series concerns two gay Mormons who fall in love as young men. One remains closeted and marries and starts a family. The other identifies as gay and moves to Portland. A chance encounter brings them together and old feelings resurface.

Since opening their doors, Breaking Glass Pictures has released more titles than the vast majority of its contemporaries. With a packed release schedule through the upcoming months, the company is expanding and gaining notoriety as it moves into its seventh year of operation. Fans of movies that offer truly independent content have a new, dependable source for quality cinema, and thanks to the company’s commitment to Philadelphia, the film industry may have to put the city on the map as the new destination for East Coast Independent Film Distribution.
